Botani is a personal project where I challenged myself to create four playable characters for a fictional video game. The characters were based around different concepts relating to plants, each with a unique playstyle and set of abilities. Click on each character to see more!

Rhyllis
As a jack-of-all-trades, Rhyllis is a very flexible fighter! The flowers that it grows on its body are capable of generating thorns and shooting beams of sunlight. They can also charge up sunlight to release an extra powerful ray of solar energy from the flower on their head! By using their flexible body, Rhyllis can quickly move between close and long range combat to maximize their options and achieve a dazzling victory!
Loch
Loch might not look like a warrior, but they’re a lot tougher than they seem. Their body is mostly made up of water, so they can only be damaged by attacks that hit the core at the center of their body. They’ve even got extra protection in the form of water shields that defend the core from taking damage. Loch’s not just a punching bag, though, as the seeds in their arms can turn into different aquatic plants to suit their needs, like a spear made of mangrove roots or a rope made of kelp! With their bubbly demeanor and surprisingly lethal arsenal, Loch washes their foes away!
Venu
Venu is a ravenous force that will let nothing get in the way of their next meal! As a close-range brawler, they thrive when they’re right next to their enemy. When they get in close, their powerful jaws make quick work of them. After a victory, they can store and digest the vanquished foe inside the pouch in their chin. While an enemy is stored in the pouch, they get a power boost! Evil may not usually sound very appetizing, but to Venu, it’s the perfect main course!
Mico
Mico is not aggressive by any meaning of the word, but they can be quite dangerous when they want to be. Mico cannot attack by normal means. By themselves, they are completely defenseless. However, Mico is never alone thanks to the insects that follow them! By covering foes with spores, they direct their insects to attack on their behalf. With the power of their entomological entourage, they are a match for any and all foes!
